Submission via Turnitin
Student assignments should be submitted through Turnitin. Turnitin links for each assignment are located within each subject's LMS page.
- Non-electronic submission
Hard-copy assignments should only be submitted when specifically requested by academic staff. Non-electronic submissions require a signed coversheet. Coversheets are available at the assignment drop box, or can be downloaded here.
Parkville assignments are to be submitted to:Werribee assignments should be handed to the Subject/Unit Coordinator.

To request an extension for an assignment submission of up to two weeks, contact your subject coordinator directly. You must do this before the assignment submission date. You will need to provide supporting documentation as part of your request for an extension and you will also need to nominate the length of the extension (up to a maximum of 10 working days).

The eligibility of your application will be assessed by staff in Stop 1. If your application is assessed as eligible it will then be forwarded to your subject coordinator to determine an outcome.

- Late submission of essays/assignments
Unless otherwise stated on the LMS or with the assessment criteria, any assignment handed in late will incur a penalty of 10% deduction (of the total marks available) for every day or part of a day that it remains not submitted.
Assignments that are submitted late and are marked to a fail as a result of late submission may not be resubmitted. Assignments should be submitted via the LMS. Hardcopy, fax and email copies will not be accepted unless agreed to by the subject coordinator in advance.
- Calculators in Exams
You are required to purchase your own calculator.
In 2016, where calculators are permitted, please see the list of approved calculators in your exam information. If no list is provided, calculators in exams must be non-programmable. Calculators will be checked by subject coordinator or exam invigilators at the beginning of the exam.
From 2017 onward, the approved calculator for all subjects is the Casio FX82 (any suffix). No equivalent models of calculators will be permitted.
- Exceeding word limits in assignments
Unless otherwise stated in the Subject Outline, assignments that exceed the word limit by more than 10%, inclusive of footnotes, attract a marking penalty of 10% of the marks that would otherwise have been awarded.
